After an extremely successful first season run, NBC's The Voice crowned its first winner Wednesday night. Fan favorite Javier Colon took home the title of Voice champion, making his coach Adam Levine extremely proud. beating out finalist Dia Frampton by just two percent.
"Wow. Thank you," Colon said. "I don't even know where to begin other than to say that the three women behind here are absolutely awesome."
The singer was, of course, referring to the other three finalists -- Cee Lo Green's contestant Vicci Martinez, Beverly McClellan from Team Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton's protege Dia Frampton. And while all three runners-up gave memorable performances, it was Frampton who came in second, losing to Colon by just two percent.
As confetti fell around him and the coaches, Colon expressed his gratitude. "I want to thank everybody at home who believed in me and voted for me and [I want to thank] my family."
The father of two from Stratford, Conn., was the show's frontrunner from his very first performance, when his soulful version of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" had all four judges' chairs spinning. As the winner of the 10-week competition, he'll take home a recording contract and $100,000 prize.
Earlier in the evening, Colon gave viewers plenty of reason to believe he's going to be a star, when he and music legend Stevie Nicks sang a duet of her song "Landslide."
"I'm pretty speechless ... that was one of the most beautiful duets I've ever heard in my life," Levine said of the performance. "You're one of my heroes. Good luck ... you deserve to win this competition."
And so he did.
Up next for the champ? Colon will join Frampton, Martinez, and McClellan on a six-city tour this summer.
