Over Memorial Day weekend, I spent the weekend in Vegas with my family. ?My mom hosted my baby shower at Lucilles. ?It was wonderful. ?We had a wonderful turn out (of almost 30 people!), shared great food and had great conversation. ?I was a little overwhelmed with the love and generosity of everyone who came! ? I am very thankful for everyone who was able to come and all of those who were not able to make it but sent their love and wishes for our little boy. ?Now, enough of the mushy stuff? ?to the meat of the post. ?I wanted to post pictures of my baby shower to hopefully help you get ideas for the one you are hosting for your best friend, sister, whoever.
We, of course, registered at the store. ?I had a great time working with my in-laws and the store employees to figure out what we wanted to put on our registry. ?It gave us a chance to share some of the items that we wanted/needed for the baby. ?For example, I knew that I wanted a BoB stroller and a MamaRoo swing, so I put those on our registry. ?It also give you a chance to share your nursery theme (ours is the Elephant line by Zutano) or other ideas that you feel strongly about (like no pink for a little girl?s room). ?The registry at Dagermans allows you to put in special notes like the name of your little one, shower notes, etc. ?They also can coordinate the delivery of gifts to your shower, which was amazing!
My mom took our Safari theme and integrated it into the cake. ?I love the way it turned out, and my mom is incredibly talented! ?I love how she used a plush monkey as the cake topper.
We played a few games, handed out a few prizes, ate and had a great time. ?We also passed around a frame for everyone to sign (which I picked out at the store), and it turned out adorable! ?The picture is one of the ones that we did at Miracle in Progress, which I featured in our last post.
Lastly, my mom decided to have the shower at Lucilles for a number of reasons. ?First, it is my favorite place to eat when I visit my family,?and?I love BBQ. ?(It was delicious, and they had wonderful service!) ?Next, my mom wasn?t comfortable with having 30 people over to her house in her living room. ?Lastly, we didn?t have to cook or set up for the shower, and no one had to clean up their home afterwards! ?We had such a great time. ?It may not have been the ?traditional baby shower?, but I thought it was perfect. ?I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life.
