For better or worse, it looks like more and more companies are taking to Twitter to announced upcoming product releases. Of course, to us is sort of makes sense, especially in the case where the company is fielding a question from a customer, but at the same time it sort of makes things seems a bit more subdued. Anyway, the latest bit that we gleamed from Twitter includes Canada and the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone.
And some will likely remember that Samsung recently launched a splash page for the Galaxy S II on their Canadian website touting how it was going to be coming soon. Well, that has been followed up with confirmation from a carrier. It seems SaskTel has stated that the handset would be available ?in the next month.? Or, at least that is the way we see it. The actual tweet reads as follows;
?We will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S II device in the next month that has the dual core. ^KK?
With that, we suspect that SaskTel is not going to be the only carrier that offers the Galaxy S II, though at present we are still waiting for a mention coming from others. Maybe Telus, Bell and Rogers? Otherwise, we have to say that we were a bit surprised to hear that SaskTel is going to launch within the next month (July), but then again, Samsung did originally state that the Galaxy S II would arrive in Canada sometime in early Q3.
Bottom line, it looks like we are going to be waiting for a bit more information regarding SaskTel as well as the other Canadian carriers. But if nothing else, this should come as good news for those using SaskTel and looking to purchase a nicely spec?d Android device. Better start setting some cash aside.
