COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) - FC Dallas walked off the field with the same demeanor as it had the previous 13 games.

There was no fist-pumping or any emotion.

Only this time FC Dallas had won.

"At this point, there was no reason to celebrate," Fabian Castillo said. "We started the game being sixth points out of fifth place."

Castillo scored in the 81st minute and FC Dallas ended a 13-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Colorado on Saturday.

"Once we start collecting more wins, then we can start thinking about celebrating," Castillo said.

Castillo assisted on the game-tying goal by Carlos Rodriguez in the 60th minute. Rodriguez also had an assist for FC Dallas (4-9-7).

FC Dallas had not won since beating Montreal on April 14. The team was 0-7-6 since.

"We had fought in every game and just didn't find a way to get the win or we beat ourselves or got fatigued," FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman said about the streak. "We tried to keep the pressure off these guys, knowing we had been going without six or seven starters."

Omar Cummings scored in the 50th minute for Colorado (7-11-1) The Rapids lost for the third straight time, matching their season high.

"It is frustrating to see what has happened in our other games and not to get the results," Colorado coach Oscar Pareja said. "We do a lot of good things and we can't finish."

Colorado won the earlier meeting 2-0 on May 6 in Dallas.

Castillo took the cross from Rodriguez in the slot and drilled a shot past keeper Matt Pickens. It was the second goal of the year for Castillo.

"The ball got deflected into space where there was two FC Dallas players," Castillo said. "I was fortunate to get on top of the ball, have some separation and put it in."

Ricardo Villar had just missed a shot for FC Dallas off a steal by Brek Shea in the 48th minute when Conor Casey got the ball on the FC Dallas side of the field.

Casey passed to Cummings along the west sideline. Cummings took several strides and connected on a shot between the legs of goalkeeper Kevin Hartman.

Rodriguez tied it with his first goal of the year in the 60th minute off a cross from Castillo. Castillo found Rodriguez alone for a header.

"This group is funny," Hyndman said. "This group seem to play their best when they falls behind."

Hartman made a leaping save to deny Cummings a potential go-ahead goal in the 72nd minute.

The Rapids dominated play in the first half, but had nothing to show for it. Cummings sailed a header past the right post in the 10th minute off a cross from Drew Moor.

Jaime Castrillon missed the right post with a header in the 13th minute and pushed a header over the crossbar in the 18th minute. Martin Rivero's corner kick set up a header by Jeff Larentowicz, but the shot went well beyond the left post in the 24th minute.

The best chance of the half for FC Dallas came in the 36th minute when Castillo got a pass to Shea in front of the goal after getting past Colorado defender Marvell Wynne. Shea couldn't control the ball well enough and managed a harmless shot into the stands.
